GITAM SIGNS MoU with Canada’s University of Windsor GITAM University signed a multi-level Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canada’s University of Windsor (UoW) today at Windsor University at Canada. GITAM University Registrar Prof.M.Potharaju and Windsor University President Dr. Alan Wildeman exchanged the MoU papers. As a part of International collaborations GITAM University deputed a team to USA under the chairmanship of Prof.M.Potharaju, Registrar to visit various worlds’ reputed universities. On invitation GITAM team visited the University of Windsor on Tuesday. GITAM team consisting of Nanotechnology experts, civil engineering, and environmental science and geophysics professors interacted with the Windsor University faculty members before finalizing the MoU. Earlier the team also visited National University of Singapore (NSU), Singaproe. The University of Windsor is located next to North America’s busiest international border crossing. The University is a comprehensive, student-centered university, with more than 16,500 students enrolled in a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs including several professional schools such as law, Business, Engineering, Human Kinetics, Nursing and Social Work with 80 research labs. The collaboration will enable short and long-term faculty and student exchange program. The collaboration will offer research based innovative academic programs and also provide opportunity for students to study at University of Windsor. The collaboration highlights short and long-term faculty exchange programs for their students, under-graduate and post-graduate student exchange program including dual program for under-graduate students, collaborative research and discovery, learning, teaching and engagement. Collaborative Research: While signing on the MoU GITAM University Registrar Prof.M.Potharaju informed that the University is actively involved in Nanotechnology, Environmental science, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering and IT research. He expressed that the collaborative research between the two Universities would give a good scope to strengthen further. He also mentioned that the University is planning to send the post doctoral fellows to Windsor University for research work. He said that the University is preparing new syllabus for engineering programs for international recognition. According to GITAM registrar University of Widsor shown interest to take up collaborative research in civil, environmental, nano and biotechnology areas. GITAM University UGC affairs Director Prof.C.H.Ramakrishna, Chemistry Department Head Prof.Sarathchandrababu and other faculty members also attended the program.
